Trump admin not sending migrants to Florida after backlash
"Because of everybody's efforts, we are able to stop what had appeared to be a crisis for our community," Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said in a statement Saturday reported by told local TV station WPTV.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), an ally of President Trump, was among those who pushed back on the reported plans, saying Friday that the proposal was "not acceptable" and may not go into effect.
"I'm going to be addressing this," he said. "This is not something that came down from the White House. This was something that came out of the agencies."
