You know all those 'CHINESE GHOST CITIES' we've heard about for years now. What are they for, really?

When the story first broke about China's massive empty cities, built brand-new under China's command-economy, we were all led to believe it was a colossal blunder in urban and fiscal planning. Ridiculously misallocated resources.

The official Chinese story was that the cities were meant to house millions of Chinese citizens from the countryside moving to the upwardly-mobile cities. Except they never came. It sounds like most of those ghost cities are STILL totally empty years later.

And then Q arrived to completely blow our minds. I find myself re-thinking EVERYTHING that I once thought I understood and subjecting it to the lens of Q. And I saw another story about the Chinese ghost cities. A decade later, it's still "a thing."

Why do I think that we haven't been told what these cities were REALLY meant for?
