Oprah surprises high school principal with $500K donation for students

(Spoopy Levels of Epic Proportions)

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey surprised a New Jersey school principal on Friday with a large donation to help students after school.

ABC 7 reported that Winfrey arrived at West Side High School Friday night and presented principal Akbar Cook with a check for $500,000 to fund his program, Lights On, which provides a place for young adults to safely hang out with friends after school.

Winfrey, previously a host for CBS News' "60 Minutes" flagship news magazine, announced in late April that she would step down from the broadcast, citing its effect on her personality at the time.

“It was not the best format for me,” Winfrey told The Hollywood Reporter last month.

“How should I say this? Never a good thing when I have to practice saying my name and have to be told that I have too much emotion in my name,” she said at the time. “I think I did seven takes on just my name because it was ‘too emotional.’ I go, ‘Is there too much emotion in the Oprah part or the Winfrey part?’ I was working on pulling myself down and flattening out my personality — which, for me, is actually not such a good thing.”

Candace Owens: Big Tech Trying to ‘Subvert a Mass Awakening’

Pundit and black conservative activist Candace Owens blasted big tech bias after Breitbart News’ exclusive story that she has been placed on a list of “hate agents” maintained by Facebook.

Yesterday, a source at Facebook exclusively spoke to Breitbart News about the “hate agents” list, which includes a number of prominent recently-banned individuals including Paul Joseph Watson, Laura Loomer, and Alex Jones.

A Facebook spokeswoman confirmed the existence of the list, but denied that Candace Owens has been investigated. The spokeswoman also emphasized that a recent seven-day ban of Owens was a mistake and has been reversed.

“More and more Americans are waking up to, and rejecting the fantastical ideology of the Left. What we’re seeing now are social media companies that are desperate to help subvert a mass awakening” Owens said in a comment to Breitbart News.

“Facebook is attempting to manufacture a virtual reality for the Democrats by silencing voices that run counter to their Party mission, which is to get rid of President Trump and to turn America into a socialist country.”

Breitbart’s source at Facebook was able to obtain a partial screenshot of the spreadsheet before the current owner of the discussion group began locking people out in response to the internal leak.

Radical Abortion Bill Fails in Rhode Island

A bill that would have expanded unlimited late-term abortion in Rhode Island failed in the state Senate Judiciary Committee this week.

S.B. 152, the Reproductive Health Act, styled after New York’s new law that allows abortion at any time during pregnancy, failed to make it out of the state Senate committee by a vote of 5-4, making it unlikely the Ocean State’s General Assembly will pass a bill to expand abortion during this legislative session.

Though supporters of Planned Parenthood erupted in anger over the vote and demanded state senators bring the bill to a floor vote before the entire chamber, Bracy said he doubts the success of this campaign:

“This bill was a brazen attempt to use fear, uncertainty and doubt to push an extreme abortion agenda,” he said. “Enough members of the Senate read the bill, read our legal analysis and understood that and were not bullied by a lying media.”

Bracy said many in the local media with sympathies toward the abortion rights supporters misrepresented the legislation to minimize its extreme nature.
