It is supported by anchors that go down 30 feet, whereas the original one had anchors that only went down 5 feet (the minimum thickness allowed for the current concrete, so even at it's thinnest, it is as deep as the old anchors were.) It is obviously out of this world stronger than the old spillway. There may be water coming up between some of the slabs, however, it is coming up through drainage gravel. That won't erode. My end conclusion is that Oroville is going to be fine. We will know soon."
