I really think something spoopy is going on at Castle Hot Springs in Arizona. This place is a real chore to get to without four wheel drive so most guest would be flown in by helicopter.The cheapest room cost $660 a night. After reading about locals being escorted away by cops I am even more suspicious. Castle Hot Springs is located in the Hieroglyph mountain. They are covered in Petroglyph's so go figure. Today we read an article about this resort and decided to drive out there since we live in Phoenix and had never seen it before. We thought it may be worthwhile to check into for a staycation… but we got up to the front desk area and were for all pretenses and purposes apprehended by police. Asking if we were guests, we said no and explained we should like to talk to the front desk about a possible reservation and they said the would follow us to the gate and escort us out. So we called afterwards to see what that was all about and the manager pretty much told us again that we were just not in consideration due to the privacy of the guests. This is a beautiful resort don’t get me wrong… but it is in the middle of no where and to keep the doors open… aside from the tourist dollars of $600-1600 per night it will NEED locals to frequent this place when it is 112 degrees and no on wants to stay in Phoenix… sad, its is quite lovely there but they won’t have my business or anyone I know. May want to revisit your business plan before you end up closing the doors.

Glitz and Glamour

Celebrities and dignitaries from around the world found their way to the health-giving waters of Castle Hot Springs including western writer Zane Grey, prominent families like the Vanderbilts, Astors, Roosevelts, Kennedys, and Wrigleys. President Theodore Roosevelt stayed at the resort during the dedication of the Roosevelt Dam. In the 1940's the resort was used as a military rehabilitation center to treat veterans wounded during World War II. One famous soldier who rested at Castle Hot Springs was future president John F. Kennedy, who spent three months recovering from wounds.

The Orme School is not very far away from this. The Orme school is very secluded and his some history involving people who were transferred to the schools in Florida with pedo history. The YMCA camp nearby is also Spoopy. It is called Chauncy Ranch and used to belong to Tom Chauncy who was the godfather of Arizona news. Very powerful. The ranch is also difficult to access and rediculously lush considering the location. Ronald Reagan's difficult daughter attended Orme. It aslways gave me the creeps the way those kids would die if they tried to cross the desert to escape the school.
