Anon is giving you bad info.

  1. Treaties do NOT "override" the Constitution. NOTHING can override the Constitution. It can be amended, but not overridden.

  1. Article 2, Section 2, Clause 2 says nothing about the legal effect of treaties.

  1. The article to look at is Article 6, Clause 2:

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding. "

You see there? "… all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States …"

ALL treaties MUST be consistent with the Constitution. If they are, then it is an alternative way of passing a law with foreign countries (rather than the normal legislative process). But if they are a violation of the Constitution, they are not valid.

This think with Obama was not a treaty.
