Treatments now are very much better than then.

they use "Your Rights as an American Citizen" to let you go roam the streets.

I spoke to a Vet recently; and at least of all Vets he knows are on the street. They are not capable of helping themselves because their brains are shot from trauma. Even though they have the Veteran benefits they can't take advantage of it, since their mind's are gone.

Combine that with this - There are thousands of empty housing units, which landlords are leaving empty in my city.

It's a very sad tale.

Many in jail are actually mentally ill, but since they were thrown out of the hospitals they are either attacked by others - for acting weird. Or they become so distraught they act out and are sent to jail.

Very wrong. Especially since treatments are available.

Side note : a judge will sentance a person to a Mental Hospital if they start questioning the under pinnings of the legal system - for months, "for observation"

So they use the "crazy" tag against the political opponents. But real crazy folks are left to die.
