I'm in the red. Last night we had the WEIRDEST thunderstorm I'd ever seen.

The sky was CONSTANTLY flashing. I'm talking lightning every second for at least 5 minutes straight. I'd never seen anything like it.

As if that wasn't strange enough, there was next to NO THUNDER. Just a slight rumble as though it were coming from miles away, despite it looking like it was within a mile away.

It was happening so frequently, looked so close, but sounded so quiet, that I began to assume it was just another NYC styled "blue sky" faulty transformer type situation – but occasionally I'd see clearly a lightning bolt.

I wrote it off as just some kind of weird anomaly and didn't think too much about it.

As someone who isn't a weatherman whatsoever, I would describe what I saw with a weather map looking exactly like this.

It was simultaneously the wildest and tamest thunderstorm I'd ever experienced. NO RAIN nor any weather that would normally accompany a storm. This weather map so closely FEELS like my experience that it drove me to type all this up right now. For what it's worth.
