He is a folk hero for the ages, not just the here and now. He is history in the making. He has a mythic quality through which he embodies the deep human longing for a hero figure. Yet he is also now, and unashamedly American.
We’ve lacked for true heroes in the recent past; yet here came one most of us never expected to see.
In a different age we would already have made him our Tribal Chief, our King.
The verdict of history will be massive and positive. I hope that enough of the naysayers and the haters will live to see the turning of the critical tide.
