I was wondering whatever would make these women want to be in this cult, and that's what occurred to me, he promised to be a baby daddy for them. He probably found out what each woman wanted in a relationship and told her he would give it to her. From what is described in the article, he led them to believe he would be a manly man, and when he couldn't come across in real life, he probably started wearing them down with mindfucking, they were probably too involved at some point and couldn't leave.
