You guys have it backwards… Catholicism is the Truth, and because it is and was once accepted as such world-wide those thirsty for power went after the papacy. The direct lineage of Christ to the Apostles ONLY exists through the Catholic Church. "Early Christian Church Fathers" were all Catholic. Protestantism is all heresy. Heresy because ONE person didn't like what was thoroughly discussed and accepted as Truth through Christ. Methodist? Lutheran? Presbyterian? Mormon? Baptist? Unitarian? What makes YOUR version true? Who started your religion and why? Can morality be subjective? How does one derive what's actually correct then?

Claiming you are a Catholic, and living the faith are two different things. I don't go into the garage and declare myself a car, and magically it be so.

So too with Podesta. While I believe God can forgive him for anything if he's truly sorry, it doesn't take away from the fact that the man has no business claiming such things while doing the alleged things he's done thus far.

Italian and Catholic are often synonymous. But most of the world, including Italy, is no longer Catholic.

The Catholic Church and teaching does not change despite people, even the pope himself, claiming so. I'm so sick of brainwashed Protestants claiming this.

Protip: When "P" is revealed, even if he/she is Pope, look at what the Catholic Church teaches and decipher whether or not "P" (even if he/she was or was not pope) would have been Catholic by definition.

As a practicing Catholic, you're dead wrong. Me telling you isn't the same as you researching the history of Christianity to find out if the words you speak are really what you believe and not what someone told you.
