Walk down memory lane.

My last qualification before retirement I nailed 20/20 in the foxhole. Got to talking to my second and didn't even hear anything before "Switch your rifles from safe to fire and watch your lanes."

I was still in the foxhole while everyone else was in prone. I grabbed my rifle and magazine, rolled into prone, slammed the mag home, and loaded the round/switched to fire.

I had missed the first 50m target without firing (too late), and popped one off at the second, 100m target and missed. If I thought about it I would have fired again, since I now had a spare round, but didn't

Hit the next 18 targets so wound up with 38/40, but damn that felt awesome to be in a more "realistic" firing scenario.

The only way to ensure thatn the enemy will pose no more threat is several rounds center mass. SOmetimes scaring them makes them run away, but return in anger and revenge to cause more damage.
