Nunes To Trump: Ask Theresa May About Brits’ Handling Of Steele Dossier

The top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee is calling on President Donald Trump to press British Prime Minister Theresa May about the British government’s handling of the Steele dossier.

California Rep. Devin Nunes also called on Trump in a letter to ask May whether the British government was aware of or took part in surveillance efforts against members of the Trump campaign.

Trump is expected to make a state visit to the U.K. in June.

The trigger for Nunes’s letter was a report published in the British press Sunday that Christopher Steele, a former MI6 officer, briefed high-level British government officials about his investigation into possible ties between Trump and the Russian government.

The U.K. Telegraph reported that a week after Trump’s election win, Steele briefed Sir Charles Farr, who then chaired Britain’s Joint Intelligence Committee, about his investigation of Trump’s possible ties to Russia.

Farr passed the information to other high-level British intelligence officials, including MI5 director Andrew Parker and MI6 director Alex Younger. According to the Telegraph, the prime minister was not briefed on the information.

Nunes asserted in his letter, which was obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation, that the report raises “important questions” about the British government’s role in “spreading the dossier’s false allegations and what actions they may have taken in response to the allegations.”

Nunes has led the Republican effort to investigate the FBI’s handling of the dossier, which was used to obtain surveillance warrants against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Republicans have cried foul because Steele’s dossier was unverified when cited by the FBI. It was also funded by the Clinton campaign and DNC.

Steele’s 35-page report has been all but debunked by the special counsel’s report, which found no evidence of a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Kremlin.

“To better understand these matters, I respectfully request that you ask Prime Minster May about the British government’s knowledge of the Steele dossier and whether the British government took any unilateral actions based on information provided by Steele or at the request of any U.S. departments or agencies,” Nunes wrote in the letter.

Nunes listed seven areas he hopes Trump will discuss with May.

He wants to find out if any British officials tasked Steele with gathering additional information on Trump, as well as whether British intelligence discussed Steele with their American counterparts.

One question listed by Nunes could cause some stress on the U.S.-U.K. relationship.

Masters of the Universe Reject the Declaration of Independence and Constitution

Mark Levin, author of Unfreedom of the Press, described Silicon Valley’s dominant “progressive” ideology as hostile to America’s Declaration of Independence and Constitution, offering his analysis of political and partisan censorship deployed by technology companies such as Google, Facebook, and Twitter in a Thursday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

“Why do I think that Silicon Valley is conducting itself the way that it does?” asked Levin, “Because this is the way the progressive left works. They do not tolerate diversity. They do not tolerate independent thinkers. They do not tolerate anyone who opposes their view.”

Levin continued, “Remember, progressivism is about a very destructive ideology that runs counter the Declaration of Independence. We talk about natural rights. We talk about unalienable rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They reject this.”

Levin added, “When you read about the progressives, Woodrow Wilson and John Dewey and the rest, they reject the Declaration of Independence, they reject the Constitution. Their politicians and their progeny pretend that they support these things. These people in Silicon Valley, they don’t embrace our history, and they’re not capitalists. Let’s make that abundantly clear. They don’t believe in competition.”

Levin reference George Gilder’s prediction in Life After Google that new technological platforms will displace the status quo of social media as provided by Google’s YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. “They’re going to go the way of the landline telephones,” said Levin, quoting Gilder.

This is why I embrace technology, by the way,” remarked Levin. “Because the way you get out of monopolies and the way you get out of government control — and the way you get out of despotism, generally — is through ideas and creativity and progress; human progress.”

“Great innovation and creativity of the American mind is somehow going to find a way out of this,” estimated Levin.

Levin concluded by praising dissident news media outlets challenging left-wing and partisan Democrat orthodoxy pushed by news media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post.

“These behemoths needs to be competed against, and that’s what we do,” said Levin of BlazeTV. “Whether it is digital TV, whether it is websites, whether it’s talk radio, podcasts, or whatever it is: the more the merrier, that’s my attitude. We’re prepared to compete. They are not, which is why they are ideologically bound to a tyrannical ideology. We’ve got to keep fighting them [and] keep exposing them.”

Mad Maxine Waters Gets President Trump’s Financial Records From Wells Fargo and TD Bank

Congresswoman Mad Maxine Waters has already obtained President Trump’s financial documents from Wells Fargo and TD Bank.

NBC News reported that two out of nine financial institutions have already complied with subpoenas issued by the House Financial Services and handed over thousands of documents to the Committee.

Wells Fargo and TD Bank are the two of nine institutions that have so far complied with subpoenas issued by the House Financial Services Committee demanding information about their dealings with the Trump Organization, according to the sources. The disclosures by these two banks haven’t been previously reported. Both TD Bank and Wells Fargo declined to comment for this story.

Wells Fargo provided the committee with a few thousand documents and TD Bank handed the committee a handful of documents, according to a source who has seen them. The committee, led by Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., is especially interested in the president’s business relationship with Russia and other foreign entities.

Maxine Waters said on MNSBC’s “Hardball” on Wednesday, “we don’t have information to share with you at this time about what we’ve learned from the documents.”

Rep. Maxine Waters also sent subpoenas to Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Royal Bank of Canada and Toronto-Dominion Bank and JP Morgan Chase.

Earlier Wednesday Edgardo Ramos, Judge of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, an Obama appointee, ruled that Deutsche Bank and Capital One can turn over Trump’s financial documents to the House Democrats in response to a subpoena.

Democrat Adam Schiff, the leaker and head of the House Intelligence, and Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters, subpoenaed the Trump Family bank records with Deutsche Bank in mid-April… because they can.

Just two days ago, another Obama judge ruled Trump’s former accounting firm Mazars USA had to comply with a congressional subpoena.

This is presidential harassment.

“The subpoenas issued to Deutsche Bank and Capital One by Chairpersons Schiff and Waters are unlawful and illegitimate,” Trump’s lawyers said in a statement last month. “They seek information going back decades from anyone with even a tangential connection to the President, including children, minors and spouses. Every citizen should be concerned about this sweeping, lawless, invasion of privacy. We look forward to vindicating our clients’ rights in this matter.”

President Trump is sick of the ‘phony investigations’ launched by the rabid Democrats and said he will not work with the lawmakers on an infrastructure deal until they stop harassing him with Soviet style investigations.

The Democrats are digging into every aspect of President Trump’s life searching for a crime.

To handle this opposition, the USA and their allies will have to pursue a joint long-term strategy which exploits Russia’s vulnerabilities. So Rand analyses the various means with which to unbalance Russia, indicating for each the probabilities of success, the benefits, the cost, and the risks for the USA.

Rand analysts estimate that Russia’s greatest vulnerability is that of its economy, due to its heavy dependency on oil and gas exports. The income from these exports can be reduced by strengthening sanctions and increasing the energy exports of the United States. The goal is to oblige Europe to diminish its importation of Russian natural gas, and replace it by liquefied natural gas transported by sea from other countries.

Another way of destabilising the Russian economy in the long run is to encourage the emigration of qualified personnel, particularly young Russians with a high level of education. In the ideological and information sectors, it would be necessary to encourage internal contestation and at the same time, to undermine Russia’s image on the exterior, by excluding it from international forums and boycotting the international sporting events that it organises.

In the geopolitical sector, arming Ukraine would enable the USA to exploit the central point of Russia’s exterior vulnerability, but this would have to be carefully calculated in order to hold Russia under pressure without slipping into a major conflict, which it would win.

3D-printable 'Death Pod' for 'stylish' and 'peaceful' suicide premiered at Venice expo

Tired of the old, painful and ugly suicide methods? Now you can have a "peaceful, elective and lawful death" at the press of a button with Sarco, a suicide pod – and it even comes with a built-in eco-friendly coffin.

Alongside halls filled with abstract art and video installations, browsers at the 58th Venice art Biennale can now get a sneak peak at "Sarco" – short for sarcophagus, – a sleek, portable and 3D printable machine that could help bring suicide into the 21st century.

The so-called 'death pod' was designed by Australian humanist, author and euthanasia advocate Philip Nitschke, whose previous invention was called the Deliverance machine and was used by four people to commit suicide via lethal injection.

"This is the most important day of your life, the day you die. It is something not to be hidden, it should be eloquent and beautiful."

Sarco's main features were first advertised in 2017, and include an unspecified electronic questionnaire to make sure you're sane enough to decide to die. After locking yourself inside and passing the test, you get the code to start the euthanasia process. Enter it, and Sarco starts pumping nitrogen to replace the oxygen in the pod, producing a slight "tipsy" feeling before you nod off for good.

As an added bonus, the transparent lid allows you to die somewhere with a view.

"You can tow it off and have it overlooking the Alps or the lakes. When you're ready you say goodbye, use the code to get in, pull down the canopy, press a button and you die in a few minutes. It's a very peaceful death," Nitschke explained.

For those prone to last-minute second thoughts, there's a stop button and an escape hatch – because product safety is key to good design, Sarco's creators explain in a promotional video.

They built in a figurative escape hatch for themselves, too, in case a potential Sarco user happens to reside in a country where assisted suicide is illegal. In this case, Nitschke and designer Alexander Bannink suggest you 3D-print your own death pod using their idea, leaving their hands clean of potential liability for knowingly giving you a suicide tool.

The machine will be on display for the next 6 months before being shipped for its first use in Switzerland, a country where assisted suicide is legal.

Some commenters on Twitter welcomed Sarco as a sign the future has arrived – at least the way 'Futurama', a cartoon set in the 31st century, imagined it.
