Two points of interest to tackle when practicable, to take to the supreme court:

States making any thing other than gold and silver coin as a payment of debt.

Constitutionality of the National Security Act of 1947 and all related laws passed by the legislature and related executive orders enacted by the executive.

There are many other problems, but I think a check on those two points through the people and the courts could push things back into better equilibrium.
