French Ex-Head Hollande May Have Been Targeted in Assassination Attempt –Reports

Late last month, French law enforcement took four suspects into custody over preparing an assault on police officers, with another being detained several weeks later in Strasbourg.
A member of the group detained in early May in France on suspicion of plotting a terrorist act appeared to have possibly been planning an assassination attempt against former French President Francois Hollande, television channel BFMTV reported.
“Was Francois Hollande targeted by terrorists? Some evidence underpinning the assumption has been found in the mobile phone of one of the five men detained in the beginning of May over the preparation for a terrorist act against police and the Elysee Palace”, the media outlet pointed out, adding that the person in question is an underage man from Chechnya, referred to as Khamid S.

An explosion occurred at the corner of Victor Hugo Street and Sala Street in Lyon at around 17:40 local time (15:40 GMT), France Info reported, citing the French Interior Ministry.
Le Progres regional daily reported that there were eight injured, including an eight-year-old girl. According to the newspaper, a parcel with nails, screws, and bolts was placed on the street.
At the same time, Reuters reported, citing police sources, that the number of injured stands at 13, including one child.
"There was an attack in Lyon… It is not up to me to make conclusions of it but anyway there are no victims for now. There are those injured and my thoughts are with them and their families", Macron said during an interview with YouTuber Hugo Travers.

The Russian Defence Ministry’s TV channel Zvezda has shown rare footage of a MiG-31(NATO reporting name “Foxhound”) hypersonic jet crossing the Armstrong limit (59,000-62,000 feet or 18,900-19,350 metres) and reaching near space, or the mesosphere, at an altitude of 21,500 metres. According to the plane's specifications, it is capable of flying even higher, up to 25,000 metres.
