One of the oft overlooked aspects of Nixon was how admired he was by everyone that knew him in his youth. My Grandmother was younger than him but knew him from Orange County (she was from Fullerton.) People loved Nixon for his work ethic and his strength (he helped support his family at an early age after his father passed.) He was a good guy and he was kind to people. His fellow Southern Californians loved him with devotion.
