Wall Street Journal article about the medal of honor and some recipients caught my eye this morning.

 

The medal of honor is an upside down pentagram. And it's been that way since the beginning during the Civil War.

There was a brief interlude between 1919-1942 when the Navy used the Tiffany Cross version (looks like a Greek cross). Otherwise it's always been a satanic star.

How is this ok symbolically? It's not as if the armed services and the people who invest symbolism in these things were unaware.
