Looking like Gina Haspel will be a controversial confirmation, but I don't think that should have been a surprise to Trump.
That leads to the question of who is in charge at CIA in the interim?
I would think that if you have someone already in the CIA that you want, make sure he/she is placed in the chain of command where you want them, move out the current head, then nominate a DOA candidate for ta drawn out confirmation fight.
Killing two birds with one stone here, let the confirmation antics diss on a woman and air out the clowns laundry.
Life is good.
Same with state, If Pompeo can't simply cross over and needs confirmation, who's in charge in the meantime?
