The EU has 28 European member state and a parliament.

Each country gets a number of seats based on population.

In each region of each country there are a number of seats of that country's total.

The winner gets a seat. Then their total is divided by two. If they still have more they get another seat or the next highest gets one and their total is divided by two.

this goes on until the seats are allocated.

In the north east there were three seats.

Brexit Party got more than twice as many votes as labour so they got two seats, labour got one.

No first past the post situation, this method us proportional representation

Unfortunately no.

That set of decisions is on the national level in Westminister but if there is a general election they would win easily.

It means we can fuck everyone's EU shit up with other countries until we leave.

Basically makes no deal (WTO) Brexit a certainty.
