Pagans worshiped the sun god for plentiful crops as they suffered during the harsh winter. So they believed the sun god would come back to life on the 25th of DEC. The Vatican amalgamated this worship into the catholic church as the resurrection of the "sun god" NOT
"the son of GOD."
