This is really interesting. The Y-DNA project is linked to 23andMe twitter and webpage. Haplo comes from the Geek word aplos = 'simple'.
Fathers pass on Y DNA (Chromosomes) exclusively to their sons, but mitochondrial DNA is from Mothers to both sons and daughters.
Bio metrics around the world are now collecting this information on a very large scale for the first time in history! Why? What are they looking for? Looking for Men of Old / Renown?
