The Earth has a radius of approximately 3965 miles. Using the Pythagorean theorem, that calculates to an average curvature of 7.98 inches per mile or approximately
8 inches per mile
That means assuming you could see the Statue of Liberty from 60 miles away (you can’t - maybe 10 miles tops) the drop is only about 40 feet - not 2800 feet or whatever nonsense was in all those Flat Earth shitposts.
