I'm dragging this article over from VOAT. Although I saw the movie Cabaret, which is also set in the timeframe described, I don't remember much, but the reviews I've read are rewriting history and pinning the degeneracy on Nazis:

I always think of things to add after I post. In this instance, there was a video or photo montage of this era, saying gays from all over Europe, and likely even farther, came to Germany because of this culture that was developed there. Jews had taken control of a lot of the institutional infrastructure, which would explain school field trips to a gay porn museum.
Also, I just noticed the name Tante Magnesia and remembered an article describing maybe the very first film Spielberg did that had multiple homosexual refrences, one of them being a bottle of milk of magnesia.
