The new additions to the Scrabble acceptable words list is interesting. I’ve categorized them in the included pictures.
Blue: political/cultural-political (with a left bias) - 14
Red: political/cultural-political (with a right bias) - 1
Yellow: Older/outdated cultural phrase - 5
Green: Newer (in) cultural phrases (Some of these might be older, i don’t know) - 5
Grey: Interesting choice - 1
(On the new/old cultural phrases - my thinking was that bae is still in use, but I think fleek is out. The old category was more for ok and ew)
Over half the list is blue. The one red one thrown in balances out a gender-based blue one and might be described as either ideologically left or right, I think.
When I saw “ok,” I couldn’t help but think of the “white supremacy” hand sign that’s been in the news.
I bet Hilary figured it out because she was trying to use Qapik on a triple letter score.
