Godspeed anon, to each his own, but my experience in AA was entirely different than yours as is my perception, gratitude, gratefulness and respect for an organization that has not only saved my life but the lives of hundreds of thousands of others.

I suggest you reread 'We Agnostics', and pay particular attention to 'the main objective of the big book', which, by your post, you have obtained, objective fulfilled.

Aldous Huxley said of Bill W: 'Alcoholics Anonymous founder Bill Wilson the greatest social architect of the 20th century.'

I believe he was right, God through that man and countless others, have helped saved millions from certain insanity or death the residual effect of untreated alcoholism and other drug addictions.

Indeed the 12th step redresses the objective fulfilled which states: “Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.”

I could go on and on dismantling the 'idea' that floats around the rooms about those disgruntle AA's who say AA is a religion. Sorry, but I have a beef with those that propagate that nonsense.
