I was in AA for over 25 years with continuous sobriety….grew up in a family that was riddled with alcoholics…they all got sober…I had other issues that I used alcohol to numb the pain…I quit cold turkey at age 22…About 3 years ago had a bit of breakdown and realized that alcohol wasn't my problem. I still would not say I am a regular drinker, never buy it or have it in the house and I do not frequent bars but I have had wine and lite drinks from time to time…hate any hard liquor, most times I drink iced tea and water….Jesus has always been my primary focus…and i realized I may have just been eager to be part of the "club"….never looked back….do not disparage who feel it helps them so I still do "Live and let live" but AA from my long history still consisted of very sick poeple who preyed on the weak and vulnerable…that is all I will say on that topic.
