It worked when people were cowing to their groupies. But now that they are getting pushback and are trying to invoke the law… Which has provisions and some common sense - it fails.
Still not a good idea to send your email to people. But even if you were to open child porn, you would need to save or try to distribute it to really get in trouble. One could argue that you could get in trouble for not reporting it to authorities - but this would likely only be thrown at you if you act stupid if you are interviewed.
