Tokyo. Deadly knife attack in Japan: A man attacked a group of schoolchildren and two adults with knives in the morning at a bus stop. A girl died, even an adult succumbed to his stab wounds.

The alleged perpetrator, a man in the 50s, had stabbed himself in the neck after the madness act and died later also in the hospital.

It is not known why the man in the city of Kawasaki stabbed the group of girls waiting for the bus at the bus stop. According to eyewitness reports, the man is said to have shouted, "I will kill you." This is reported by Japanese media. The police found two knives at the scene.

In the attack, a total of twelve girls and another adult were sometimes seriously injured.

Schoolgirls go to Caritas Elementary School, a private Catholic school facility in Kawasaki, according to Japanese media. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe ordered the Ministry of Education to ensure that children in Japan go to school safely. US President Donald Trump, who completes his state visit to Japan this Tuesday, expressed his condolences to the victims of the attack.

The act shocked all over Japan. Especially as the world's third largest economy enjoys the reputation of being one of the safest countries in the world. But in recent years the attacks with knives in the island kingdom have increased.

In the hitherto bloodiest rampage in Japan for decades, a young man had stabbed 19 defenseless people in a home for the disabled three years ago. In 2008, a man stabbed seven people in Tokyo. At lunchtime, the Japanese had raced into the crowd with a truck in a neighborhood that was also popular with tourists and had indiscriminately stabbed passers-by. Ten people were injured. The man was later sentenced to death.
