I phonefag 100% and believe the reason for the repeated attempt is, if you make any change to the comment field after you've already typed, it has a tendency to treat it as a new body of text so it prompts a new captcha, thus making the previous one null. Another issue is the commotion in front of the captchas sometimes.
You're talking about where it looks like one line of pixels is moving one by one lower, making it look like the image slightly moved? That's happened to me tons in the past and caught my eye lol. Weird stuff.
