An IRS complaint filed against the wife of House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD) by a conservative watchdog group has all the makings of a primer on how the Swamp operates.

The National and Legal Policy Center (NLPC) filed the complaint on May 20, noting that a charity and a for-profit consulting group run by Maya Rockeymoore Cummings have each received millions of dollars over the years from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. This foundation, created by the founder of Johnson & Johnson, is not officially affiliated with the pharmaceutical giant, but the two hold close ties. The foundation is a major shareholder in Johnson & Johnson, for example.

It does not take a Sherlock Holmes to spot the reasons to fear political corruption may be at play here. Elijah Cummings is chairing a committee that is investigating the high prices of pharmaceutical drugs. Johnson & Johnson has been hit by a rash of lawsuits over allegations that it was a major player in exacerbating the opioid epidemic that has ravaged America. The company reported in April that its first-quarter earnings for 2019 had fallen by 14% in large part due to the high legal costs involved in battling these suits. It can use all the friends in high places it can find.

Red Flags Are Flying

“When a powerful chairman of a committee of the House of Representatives has a wife that is bringing in money from entities with interests before his Committee and she is not providing the transparency mandated by the IRS, there’s a serious problem,” Tom Anderson, director of the NLPC, told the Washington Examiner. “The potential for corruption in this situation is simply off the charts and can’t be understated.”

A look into examples of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s financial largesse to Mrs. Cummings’ organizations does nothing to dim suspicion. Her charity and for-profit business have received $5.2 million and $5.5 million respectively, from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. In Sept. 2016, the foundation announced it was awarding a $1.5 million grant to the nonprofit run by Rockeymoore Cummings, The Center For Global Policy Solutions, and its Allies for Reaching Community Health Equity program. In a press release posted on the center’s website, the foundation stated the grant would:

“Create a yearlong health equity initiative that seeks to strengthen families and communities and build a culture of health.’Allies for Reaching Community Health Equity’ (ARCHE) will advance equitable public health strategies across the social determinants of health that work to combat disparities by race, gender, geography, and income while building a culture that supports healthier kids and communities.”

Observe how vague the stated goals are. How exactly does one measure actual individual performance in building “a culture of health” for racial minorities? The ARCHE program can be found on the center’s website. Under “staff” there is only one listing: Maya Rockeymoore Cummings.

Joe di Genova: John Huber Investigation of Clinton Foundation is a Farce – Never Even Started

Former US Attorney Joe di Genova says that the Huber investigation into the Clinton Foundation is a farce. Huber hasn’t even interviewed the top witness in the case whom di Genova represents!

John Huber is the special prosecutor tapped by former AG Jeff Sessions to investigate FISA abuses by Obama’s DOJ/FBI. Sessions nominated Huber to perform this investigation after numerous calls for a special investigation into the Clinton Foundation and the Deep State.

But months ago we reported that nothing was getting done. Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee say John Huber still has not interviewed key witnesses and they want answers.

Mark Meadows (R-NC), Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Doug Collins (R-GA) sent a letter to special prosecutor John Huber on January 8th demanding answers by a January 21st deadline.

“Your investigation has been ongoing for over nine months. During the course of our extensive investigation we have interviewed more than a dozen current and former DOJ and FBI personnel, and were surprised to hear none of these potentially informative witnesses testified to speaking with you,” the GOP lawmakers wrote.

The Republican Congressmen then blasted Huber for being a no-show at the December hearing where Clinton Foundation whistleblowers Lawrence Doyle of DM Income Advisors and John Moynihan of JFM Associates testified.

“Further, last month, then-chairman Mark Meadows invited you to testify as a witness at the Subcommittee on Government Operations’ hearing ‘Oversight of Nonprofit Organizations: A Case Study on the Clinton Foundation.’ We were disappointed to learn from the department that you were not enthusiastic about testifying when declining the invitation.”

Huber has the authority to impanel a grand jury, however it appears he has done nothing since Jeff Sessions appointed him in the Fall of 2017 to investigate FISA abuses.

The Clinton Foundation whistleblowers, Mr. Moynihan and Mr. Doyle told the committee they had to send their evidence to the Huber investigation THREE TIMES because they kept losing it.

In October, Congressman Meadows and Jim Jordan said they wanted to haul John Huber in before Congress to testify because they had not received any updates on Huber’s investigation.

Now we know that it was all a farce. Huber has done NOTHING!

Currently there are three investigations going on regarding the Deep State and Obama/Clinton crimes – the Huber investigation, the DOJ IG Horowitz investigations into FISA abuse and a separate investigation into James Comey and the most recent investigation set up by AG Barr in Connecticut led by John Durham.

Former US Attorney Joe diGenova said this about the three investigations (starting at around the 9 minute mark in audio below) –

Huber was supposed to be investigating leaks and a bunch of other things. He stopped his investigation because of Horowitz so he’s a useless appendage who’s done nothing. In fact, he’s supposed to be investigating Uranium One and yet he never contacted our law firm and we represent the key informant in the case, Doug Campbell. So go figure!

And finally Durham, he’s the real McCoy. He’s doing what Barr asked him to do which is get to the bottom of everything, empanel a grand jury, if necessary, turn indictments, if necessary.

The big question is whether Horowitz will put on his big boy pants and do something different than when he did the Page – Strzok thing, where he laid out all of his evidence of bias and then he said that there’s no evidence that [this] affected decisions. What a bunch of crap!

mean he basically went dead to help the institution of the FBI and senior people at the DOJ. If he does that again, in the FISA thing, if I were the Attorney General, I’d fire him!

Huber and the former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, should be brought before a grand jury and investigated for their actions in obstructing justice.

The American people are very angry about all that is going on in DC. We want OUR country back! We DEMAND justice!

yeah, but here's what's not talked about on these boards. pension funds have been gasping for air for over 10 years (think ZIRP) increasing massively the ever so indebted unfunded liabilities.

pension funds need around 8% growth annually to be viable and have suffered major losses, losses that won't be recovered. keeping rates low has wiped out pensions and oldfags retirements. add to that state and local taxes to compensate for the braindead Keynesian economic debt model which is falling apart worldwide. ever wonder why QE never caused inflation, think savings not spending.

we have a real mess here, eventually their must be a monetary change, a change that will make a lot of people uncomfortable, but necessary in the game. in the meantime US equities are the only game in town on parking cash. thought their will be volatility and government sector collapse, capital will flow into the share market.
