Kushner heads to Middle East to seek support for US peace plan

US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner is leading a delegation to the Middle East, signalling a new push on a long-promised peace plan for the region.

Kushner has been accompanied by Jason Greenblatt, Trump's special representative for international negotiations, and Brian Hook, the special US representative for Iran, the White House said on Tuesday.

The delegation began its trip in the Moroccan capital Rabat and was set to travel to Amman, Jordan and Jerusalem later this week.

A White House official told Reuters news agency one reason for this week's trip is to boost support for a June 25-26 US-led conference in Manama, Bahrain, in which Kushner is set to unveil the first part of Trump's long-awaited Israeli-Palestinian peace plan.

The damage from floods in OK and AR alone will be in the billions. Insurance more than likely won't cover those in the flood plain. Plants along the river are losing a lot of expensive equipment.

Swalwell Gets Confronted on Collusion Claims Despite Mueller Findings — Still Insists He Wasn’t Wrong

2020 Democratic presidential primary candidate Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) still isn’t backing down from his assertations that President Donald Trump colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election, months after Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report into the matter found otherwise.

The California Democrat went on to say he “respect[s]” Mueller’s “finding” but does not “accept” that this is “what we want a president or candidate to do.”

Swalwell responded by doubling down on his claim again, saying that he does not “believe in coincidences with the Russians.”

Illinois House passes bill removing late-term abortion restrictions

The Illinois House on Tuesday passed a bill loosening restrictions on abortion in the state.

The bill, proposed by state Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D), passed 64-50 vote, according to local ABC News affiliate, News Channel 20.

The Reproductive Health Act (RHA) would repeal both the state's Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act and the Illinois Abortion Act of 1975. Repealing those two laws would lessen restrictions on abortions later in pregnancy and remove criminal penalties for physicians that perform them.

London Bridge terrorist’s family reported him two years before attack

The family of one of the London Bridge terrorists destroyed his passport and reported him to police after he revealed plans to travel to Syria in support of Isis.

Khuram Butt’s brother-in-law called the government’s anti-terrorism hotline after the pair had a heated argument about the jihadist organisation in 2015, an inquest was told.

During the fight Butt said that he supported the execution of a hostage who was burned to death by Isis. A few weeks earlier Butt’s father-in-law had destroyed his passport and a one-way airline ticket to Syria to stop him travelling there.

Lindsey Graham Asks Trump To Invade Venezuela: “Do Exactly What Reagan Did” In Grenada

"I would do exactly what Reagan did. I would give Cuba the ultimatum to get out of Venezuela. If they don’t, I would let the Venezuelan military know, you’ve got to choose between democracy and Maduro."

And it's here that Graham called for direct invasion of the oil-rich but cash poor socialist country: "And if you choose Maduro and Cuba, we’re coming after you. This is in our backyard," he said.

During the interview Graham had repeated the unproven claim that Maduro "wouldn't be in power without six or seven thousand security forces in Venezuela."

Leading up to the 1983 US Marine invasion of Grenada, an action which defense planners saw as a crucial "check on communist influence", Reagan told the American people “when the thugs tried to wrest control of Grenada, there were 30 Soviet advisers and hundreds of Cuban military and paramilitary forces on the island.”

Justin Amash sends tweet storm on Mueller report, Barr and Trump ahead of town hall

Hours before his first town hall with constituents since announcing he believes President Donald Trump committed impeachable offenses, the Michigan Republican put out a series of 25 tweets expanding on his takeaways from special counsel Robert Mueller's report into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

"In truth, Mueller's report describes concerning contacts between members of Trump's campaign and people in or connected to the Russian government," Amash wrote on Tuesday.

The 39-year-old remains the only sitting Republican to openly say Trump engaged in impeachable conduct, though he has not signed onto any existing Democratic impeachment resolutions.

Amash singled out Attorney General William Barr for his handling of the report, arguing he misrepresented Mueller's findings, including in testimony before Congress.
