2020 Democratic Hopefuls Blame Iowa’s Floods, Tornadoes On Climate Change. What Do Scientists Say?
Democratic presidential candidates are trying hard to sell their climate change messages in Iowa, the first primary voting state in 2020.
Jay Inslee and Elizabeth Warren tried to link recent floods and tornadoes to man-made global warming.
The scientific evidence, however, doesn’t support those claims, according to a review of “consensus” climate science reports.
Democratic presidential candidates are trying to hype climate change in Iowa, linking the state’s recent floods and tornadoes to human-caused climate change.
Washington Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee tweeted Tuesday that “climate change is personal” for Davenport, Iowa, which has seen historic flooding this year. Inslee’s goal is to dig at President Donald Trump and bolster his climate campaign in the 2020 Democratic primary’s first voting state.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), a mass murder occurs when at least four people are murdered, not including the shooter, over a relatively short period of time during a single incident. Over the last 30 years, the United States has seen a significant increase in mass shootings, which are becoming more frequent and more deadly.
Seemingly every time a mass shooting occurs, whether it’s at a synagogue in Pittsburgh or a nightclub in Orlando, the anti-gun media and politicians have a knee-jerk response – they blame the tragedy solely on the tool used, namely firearms, and focus all of their proposed “solutions” on more laws, ignoring that the murderer already broke numerous laws when they committed their atrocity.
Facts matter when addressing such an emotionally charged topic, and more gun control legislation has shown that law-abiding Americans who own guns are not the problem. Consider the following: The more gun control laws that are passed, the more mass murders have occurred.
Whether or not this is correlation or causation is debatable. What is not debatable is that this sick phenomenon of mass murderers targeting “gun-free zones,” where they know civilian carry isn’t available to law-abiding Americans, is happening. According to the Crime Prevention Research Center, 97.8 percent of public shootings occur in “gun-free zones” – and “gun-free zones” are the epitome of the core philosophical tenant of gun control, that laws are all the defense one needs against violence.
Therefore, when the media and politicians focus their ire on guns, specifically what types of guns are used, such as AR-styles, carbines, semi-automatics, and “high capacity” handguns, in the wake of such tragedies the American public are being intentionally drawn into an emotionally charged debate about legal gun ownership (irrespective of whether the murderer’s gun was legally or illegally obtained). This debate leads them away from the elephant in the room and one of the real issues behind mass shootings – mental health and prescription drugs.
Ignoring what’s going on in the heads of these psychopaths not only allows mass shootings to continue, it leads to misguided gun control laws that violate the Second Amendment and negate the rights of law-abiding U.S. citizens. As Jeff Snyder put it in The Washington Times:

he “collusion investigation” — 2+ years, $30+ million, and using all the investigative resources of government — is over. Given the specificity and nature of the allegations in the Steele Dossier, given that Steele and his employer wanted the allegations publicized before the 2016 election, given the repeated leaks of classified material to the press over the past two years (central to the Pulitzer Prize won by the NYT and Wapo last year for reporting on Trump’s allegedly treasonous activities) and, finally, given the complete lack of evidence found to support the allegations, it would be reasonable to suspect, first, that this was all a con game from its inception to elect Hillary Clinton and second, after that failed, that it was an effort to destroy the Trump presidency and protect those who broke our laws by engaging in the con.
The former was an unlawful dirty trick involving a false allegation of criminality to the FBI. The latter would be unprecedented in our nation’s history — nothing less than an attempted coup (one which is still ongoing in Crazy Nancy’s House), seemingly both to overturn the 2016 election and to protect those who had broken the law to protect Hillary Clinton.
Can anyone tell me a legitimate justification for why those reasonable suspicions should not be investigated? The stakes could not be higher for this nation.
And yet, the MSM and progressive politicians are colluding in a full court “press” to ensure that no investigation takes place or, if it does, that the country is primed to ignore it as illegitimate. Cyber Command's latest VirusTotal upload has been linked to an active attack
The malware sample that U.S. Cyber Command uploaded to VirusTotal last week is still involved in active attacks, multiple security researchers tell CyberScoop.
Researchers from Kaspersky Lab and ZoneAlarm, a software security company run by Check Point Technologies, tell CyberScoop they have linked the malware with APT28, the same hacking group that breached the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 election cycle.
A variant of the malware is being used in ongoing attacks, hitting targets as recently this month. The targets include Central Asian nations, as well as diplomatic and foreign affairs organizations, Kaspersky Lab’s principal security researcher Kurt Baumgartner tells CyberScoop.
While ZoneAlarm can’t confirm the targets the attack is focused on, the company detected the specific malware hash in an active attack in the Czech Republic last week, Lotem Finkelsteen, ZoneAlarm’s Threat Intelligence Group Manager, tells CyberScoop.

Increased coal power could come from renewing Liddell power station and/or building a new modern low-emission coal-fired power station. The initial money needed should be raised by redirection of funds from the unwanted Snowy 2 Pumped Hydro Scheme.
Australians seem unaware of the crucial importance of the magnificent Snowy Scheme in our looming power and water crisis. In the midst of a big drought, Snowy Hydro water is being wasted to plug the daily gaps in wind/solar power production and also wasted on “environmental flows”. Water held in the Lake Eucumbene (the heart of the Snowy) is down to 24% and Hume Dam is just 14%.
To placate green-leaning State Premiers the PM should also offer to underwrite a new wind farm in the Warringah (NSW) electorate, a giant battery for a green leafy suburb in Melbourne, and a program to restore sea water flushing of high salinity water for the Coorong/Lower Lakes at the mouth of the Murray River.

Russian forces reinforce northern Aleppo as Turkish-backed rebels fight each other
BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:15 P.M.) – The Russian Armed Forces have sent more reinforcements to the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate, a source told Al-Masdar News this afternoon.
According to the source, the Russian Armed Forces sent their reinforcements to the key town of Tal Rifa’at, which was previously under attack by the Turkish military.
Meanwhile, in the Afrin region of northern Aleppo, several fighters from a Turkish-backed rebel faction reportedly exchanged hostilities after one side accused the other of arresting an ally.
The reports from Afrin read that several fighters from the Free Syrian Army traded gunfire in the Jindares District of Afrin. At least one civilian was killed during the exchange and several fighters from both sides were hospitalized for wounds sustained during the firefight.

THE DIMINISHING POWER OF THE MEDIA, PART I
There are 62 counties in New York State.
Trump won 46 of them.
Clinton won 16
Clinton won the NY state popular vote by approximately 1.5 million votes.
In the 5 counties that encompass New York City (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received over 2 million more votes than Trump, which means Trump won all the rest of New York State by half a million votes. (Clinton only won 4 of those counties; Trump won Richmond).
Therefore these 4 counties alone more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.
Those 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.
The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles
When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.
Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.) DO NOT and SHOULD NOT be allowed speak for the rest of our country!
To that end, In their infinite wisdom, the United States’ Founders created the Electoral College to ensure ALL the states were fairly represented. Why should one or two densely populated areas speak for the whole of the nation?

New US uranium production and resource data released
The USA produced 33% less uranium in 2018 than 2017, according to the US Energy Information Administration's (EIA) 2018 Domestic Uranium Production Report. Meanwhile, Uranium One has published NI 43-101 technical reports including resource figures for five uranium exploration and development properties in Wyoming.
A total of 1.6 million pounds U3O8 (615 tU) was produced from seven facilities, according to the report which was published on 16 May. These were the White Mesa uranium mill in Utah, plus six in-situ leach operations: Crow Butte in Nebraska, and Lost Creek, Nichols Ranch, Ross, Smith Ranch-Highland and Willow Creek, all in Wyoming. Ross is part of the Lance project. Total mine production, at 0.7 million pounds, was 37% less than the previous year. Total production reflects the amount of ore fed to mills in the year, including stockpiled ore mined in previous years, and is therefore higher than mine production.
The 1.6 million pounds of uranium concentrates shipped from those operations was 35% less than in 2017. US producers sold a total of 1.5 million pounds U3O8 at a weighted average price of USD32.51 per pound.
EIA data released earlier this month for the first quarter of 2019 reflect that two of those ISL operations - Crow Butte and Willow Creek - are not currently operating.
Two mills - Shootaring Canyon in Utah and Sweetwater Uranium Project in Wyoming - and four ISL plants were on standby in 2018, according to the report. Total expenditures for land, exploration, drilling, production and reclamation, at USD109 million, were 11% less than in 2017 and the lowest total since 2004. Total employment in the US uranium production industry, at 372 full-time person-years in 2018, was 12% less than in 2017 and the lowest since 2003.
