Maybe once-upon-a-time legit. We're told that there was a previous plan that was called off because it would have been too damaging to the country. The stuff BF was talking about circa 2011 sounded a bit like what is happening now.
But at some point BF seemed to go over to the dark side (about the time he started hanging out with Mr. Gnostic Illuminati), was abandoned by his possibly legit "Pentagon sources", and became relegated to parroting the info feed to him by bad guys. It's not like he can ever go back to writing for Forbes.
