The fact that it turned up in Neon Revolt's blog is one of those "out of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine" stories. Even Neon doesn't seem sure why Occhionero contacted him. Occhionero, for his part, has already done a year in jail for his connection to everything he describes in the post. I believe he's legitimate.
My own take on it:
There are a number of known facts in Occhionero's writing.
The new admin in Rome has, in fact, fired the Italian intel executives.
We've been plainly told that Italy is cooperating.
The man Occhionero believes hatched the whole coup scheme, Giovanni De Gennaro, is a very heavy hitter in the defense contractor industry worldwide.
Devin Nunes stated that Joseph Mifsud is "possibly" also known as Joseph di Gabriele in his letter to POTUS (pic related)
Occhionero goes into significant detail pointing out the connections between Link Campus Rome and British intelligence, suggesting that it's practically a grad school/summer camp for UK intelligence.
It all impressed on me just how chummy the top intel community of the world is. It's a small world, with its own culture and etiquette.
It mentions the "Silent Ones" in Italian intel, and darned if Q didn't refer to them as far back as November 2017.
That suggests to me that "Q team" knew the whole story well before then.
For his part, Occhionero is no slacker. He's a nuclear physicist. (And a Freemason, but I don't want to jump into that end of the pool. Did he HAVE to name the malware "EyePyramid"? C'mon, man.)
Occhionero sent NeonRevolt a copy of the letter he sent to Devin Nunes and others, plus a bunch of other documents, and that letter is dated February of 2018. I've seen people opining that Italy has already turned over Mifsud.
I can't find a source that explains why Devin Nunes referred to Mifsud as "possibly Di Gabriele" in his letter to POTUS last week. Can only conclude that Nunes has seen intelligence to that effect.
I kept digging on this the other day until I started running into discussion of intelligence transmission regarding suspected terrorist surveillance. I noped out of it at that point.
