The standard formula for a tag-team match is as follows…

The smaller of the babyface team begins the match in the ring against one of the equally large and powerful heels. The babyface begins to out-wrestle the heel cleanly but is soon stunned by an illegal move or strike. While the babyface is stunned or otherwise neutralized, the heels take turns tagging in and out to stay fresh and keep the advantage and keep the babyface away from his own corner and unable to tag his partner. This is known as cutting off the ring.

The babyface is given more and more punishment while bravely trying to fight back and reach his partner to make a tag. This is called "getting the heat" as by now the crowd is solidly behind the babyface. Just when it appears that he is about to be pinned, the babyface lashes out in desperation, connecting with the heel and stunning him momentarily. Using this opportunity, the babyface dives across the ring to his corner making the "hot tag". The fresh babyface charges into the ring and starts putting the beat down on the heels. It's also normal for the non-legal men to battle outside the ring on the floor. Losing their advantage gained by cheating, the legal heel is rolled up and pinned, ending the match by the babyface "going over clean".

The crowd, after being taken for a rollercoaster ride erupt in joy "being popped" by the clean and virtuous win of the fair play exhibited by the babyfaces.

Anons see the pattern here?
