Small Plane Crashes in Atlantic off New Jersey

The owner of a small plane that crashed in the Atlantic Ocean off Cape May Point in New Jersey says the pilot was a regular customer.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the single engine Mooney M20J aircraft crashed Wednesday morning about 1,200 feet (365 meters) from the Cape May Lighthouse.

Brazilian pop star Gabriel Diniz dead at 28 in plane crash

He was 28.

Diniz was a passenger in a small airplane that crashed.

Body of pilot found after plane crash in Geauga County, officials say

GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio – Officials found the body of a Geauga County man who crashed a plane Wednesday morning, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Troy Bankert’s girlfriend reported him missing about 4 a.m. Wednesday after she didn’t hear back from him for a few hours. She told the highway patrol that Banker was flying an airplane and that her last tracking of the plane was that it took an abrupt turn above the Ladue Reservoir which is located about 35 miles east of Cleveland.

Yukon plane crash kills U.S. National Park Service safety officials

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - Two top safety officials for the U.S. National Park Service in Alaska were killed in the Memorial Day crash of a single-engine airplane in Canada’s Yukon territory, officials said on Tuesday.

Jeff Babcock, head of aviation safety for the Park Service in Alaska, and Eric Benson, the agency’s Alaska safety officer, died when their Cessna 170B crashed shortly after takeoff from Whitehorse, the Yukon capital and largest city in the western Canadian territory, officials said.

Pilot walks away from a plane crash near Fredericksburg

A single-engine plane crashed in Fredericksburg on Wednesday morning and its pilot walked way without any major injuries, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot was the only person on board the vintage Boeing Stearman biplane when it lost engine power shortly before 9 a.m. and crashed about 14 miles northwest of Fredericksburg.
