What you failed to highlight and fail to acknowledge is "he may adjourn them to such time as he shall think proper" …WITH RESPECT TO THE TIME OF ADJOURNMENT".

The caveat here is both the House and Senate must disagree with a time of adjournment for Potus to intervene. Rest assured that will never happen while McConnell is Majority Leader. He has failed to officially adjourn since Potus took office, to prevent Potus from making recess appointments.

Positive. Look at the dates. Jan 3rd is the date a new congress takes over. Of course there is an official adjournment at that time, but then the next congress immediately starts. How many tijmes during the year does congress leave DC? In all those times, there has not been an official adjournment when they leave. Why is that?
