This is most likely the EU phase of the operation now and it's going to be like the last stand in Berlin in 1945.
Tillerson may have been getting strong-armed by the EU players trying to keep the Iran deal and Russia scapegoat going.
So I think Q opened up the EU front and now we're laying low to gauge the response.
Could be, too that they had to wait to see how the Merkel situation played out. I think there would be different strategies depending on whether she stayed or not.
Tillerson probably had to try to schmooze the financial players, but that didn't work, so now they get (or think they're getting) Pompeo.
Another threat to the EU is Ted Malloch. EU hates him. His name came up as EU ambassador (or something in Europe) at the beginning of Trump's admin and the EU went bullshit. Have to see if that name comes up again, since the Tillerson approach they were offered wasn't accepted. They ain't going like Malloch's approach if that happens.
Just thoughts, nothing specific sauce wise.
