To end illegal migration, the trafficking routes (weapons, drugs, people, children) will have to be closed (same routes move every type of "commodity"), and when the US swamp gets drained, which means the banking system (which launder 90% of all dirty money world wide, according to UN reports) gets restructured, laundering money will be harder.

And if the US leadership wants to kill the cartels, after the US gets its swamp drained and its borders secure (which means no trafficking influx any more, no more drugs on the streets), all they have to do is impose sanctions on the Countries that don't collaborate against the global trafficking routes.

I think it's going to happen because the cartels are a literal national security threat to the US.

I would not be surprised if a shit load of cartel laundered money is what finances all the Open Borders groups and initiatives.
