2019 Shaken Fury Exercise

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will conduct Shaken Fury 2019 involving a series of tabletop, functional and full-scale exercises in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Northern Command, state and local governments, and the private sector. The exercise will take place from May 29th through June 7th and utilize a 7.7 magnitude earthquake scenario along the southwest segment of the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ) near Memphis, Tennessee to incorporate response and recovery missions.

The purpose of Shaken Fury 2019 is to evaluate and improve the whole community’s response to a “no-notice” earthquake, identify gaps in resources, and implement a coordinated recovery strategy that prioritizes resources required for the response.

Under Secretary of Intelligence & Analysis David Glawe visited the West Virginia Intelligence Fusion Center in Charleston to discuss narcotics trafficking, other local threats and responses to narcotic overdoses with the Cabell County Quick Response Team.

The visit is part of DHS's effort to combat the #opioidcrisis by examining issues and how they're addressed in some of the nation's worst effected areas.

A U.S. Marine was attacked while working on the California-Mexico border by three unknown persons. Breitbart Border Team spoke with multiple sources operating under the umbrella of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), multiple sources operating under the Department of Defense (DOD), and reviewed an official document detailing the matter. Officials are expected to publicly confirm the incident now that it has been made known to the public.

Trusted sources working under the umbrella of CBP and the DOD told Breitbart News that a group of three unknown individuals approached a Mobile Surveillance Camera vehicle, opened the door and attempted to pull the Marine from the vehicle. The Marine pulled his firearm and fired one shot during a struggle with the attacker, according to a source and an official document obtained by Breitbart News.

The Marine was patrolling the border in the El Centro Sector, El Centro Station Zone 2 on May 29 when the vehicle developed a problem with the surveillance display. A Border Patrol agent working with the two Marines assigned to the border surveillance mission directed one of the Marines to go with him for assistance. The second Marine waited with the vehicle. While he waited, the Marine was approached by a group of three unknown individuals. One of the three people reportedly opened the door to the vehicle and attempted to take control of the Marine’s sidearm. During the struggle, the Marine fired his pistol one time, striking the forward-looking infrared display unite mounted in the dash. The attackers fled at that point.

During border surveillance operations, the MSC vehicle operated in a blacked-out condition. This condition restricts situational awareness from inside the vehicle, according to the official document obtained by Breitbart. Protocol calls for one of the pair of Marines to be on roving patrol outside the vehicle to provide security while the second Marine operates the surveillance equipment.

Another source told Breitbart that one or more of the individuals were captured about two miles away from the vehicle.
