IIRC, early on in the C-17 delivery process (planes delivered from factory to USAF) the Generals were eager to get a mission under it's belt. I seem to recall a C-17 being used to drop either a MOAB or a Daisycutter on the Taliban, thereby scoring a Cargo Pilot some combat medals. The bomb was literally shoved out of the back of the plane by the Loadmaster on cue.
