this is half right

the wheat is sprayed before harvest–sometimes

if it is a wet year

the wheat plant is dead already when it is time to harvest, they spray the field to kill the growing weeds , they are green and wet which makes it harder to cut the wheat and seperate the grain. the farmer does not want the seeds to fall off the plant, this is his cash crop.

any seeds that do fall off will grow but they are not wanted and will be killed off by cultivation or more spraying before the next crop is planted..

this is to cut down on viruses and other diseases that will carry over to the next years crop

the ripe wheat that is sprayed does become our bread- that is correct
