Most Americans under 30 were raised by the internet and television.
IMO traditional and social media are the most powerful and useful tools there’ve ever been for swaying public opinion.
It really is fascinating how many trends and popular movements are completely unnatural and are started by marketing departments.
There have been countless times where 90% of the people on my timeline will have roughly the same opinion about a topic, then a big news story will break out with a contradicting opinion, and all of a sudden, “out of nowhere”, those same people are all spouting the new shit as if the old shit never even happened and they figured out this new shit themselves.
This behavior also manifests in which trends people choose to follow. A popular celebrity could endorse drinking bleach to lose weight, and a sizable chunk of the population would actually do it.
And noticing this and how strange it is gets you called insane or crazy.
I believe this is because most young people today were born into this matrix and are unable to find anything wrong with it as it is all they know.
