SPD leader Andrea Nahles has announced her resignation as party and faction leader after the devastating election results in the European elections and in Bremen. She announced on Sunday that she wanted to open up the possibility that in both functions the succession could be arranged in an orderly manner. A spokeswoman announced that Nahles would also resign her seat in the Bundestag.
