The only way I know of to remain impervious to this kind of brainwashing and resultant groupthink is through accepting the Bible as God's revealed word to humanity - a handbook for life - and applying its principles. For instance, the Levitical hygiene laws give great insight into avoidance and control of infectious diseases amongst many other things. And there is much wisdom, applicable to everyday life, to be found in Proverbs. Let the Bible be a filter and a plumbline against which to measure one's thoughts, words and deeds, and one will not fall for marketing deceptions and political brainwashing and social engineering. Conscious acceptance of objective standards from the Source of all things is a guard against sub-conscious indoctrination by nefarious entities that seek to control humanity for self-serving purposes.
