"It's All A Fraud": Deceptive Edits Found In Mueller Report

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) on Saturday called for the immediate release of "all backup and source information" for the Mueller report after internet sleuth @almostjingo (Rosie Memos) discovered that the special counsel's office deceptively edited content which was then cited as evidence of possible obstruction.

"It's all a fraud" tweeted Nunes, replying to a tweet by @JohnWHuber (Undercover Huber), who also posted a comparison between the Mueller report and a newly released transcript of a November 2017 voicemail message left by former Trump lawyer John Dowd, in which he asked former national security adviser Michael Flynn's attorney for a "heads up" if Flynn was planning on saying anything that might damage the president.

Mueller's team omitted key context suggesting that Dowd was trying to strongarm Flynn and possibly obstruct justice by shaping witness testimony, while the actual voicemail reveals that Dowd was careful not to tread into obstruction territory in what was a friendly and routine call between lawyers.

Clashes between Israeli police & Palestinian protesters as Jews allowed entry to Al-Aqsa Mosque

Violence erupted at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem as Israeli forces allowed Jewish settlers to enter the compound for Jerusalem Day, sparking protests, arrests and injuries.

Israelis are usually prevented from entering the holy site during the last 10 days of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan when worshippers stay inside the site. This is the first time in around 30 years that Israelis have been allowed inside the site they call Temple Mount during this period.

Police then locked the mosque to prevent Palestinians from protesting inside, and more violence continued as a number of youths tried to gain entry, Haaretz reports.

Jerusalem Day takes place today and celebrates the occupation of East Jerusalem at the end of the 1967 Six-Day War. In recent years, the event has seen an increase in Jews visiting the area.

No. 3 Dem Admits Impeachment Is About Politics, Not 'What's Right'

Despite Democrats' like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's and Elizabeth Warren's insistence that Democrats' are duty-bound to initiate impeachment proceedings against President Trump, party leaders like Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer have made it clear that, ultimately, whether they decide to impeach Trump or not will be a political calculation. Notably, Pelosi's shift toward signaling an openness to impeachment coincided with polling data indicating that public support for such a move had increased.

On Sunday, Majority Whip James Clyburn became the latest member of the Democratic Party's leadership to confirm that the party is simply waiting for polling data to indicate that a majority of the public supports impeachment - something that, in all likelihood, won't happen - before moving ahead with their plans.

During an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN's "State of the Union," Clyburn, the third-ranking Democrat in the House, said he believed that the Democrats would vote to impeach Trump "at some point," but that Democrats must first succeed in building a case for impeachment and selling it to the public.

"What Nancy Pelosi is trying to do, and the rest of us in the House of Representatives, is developing a process to efficiently move on this issue so when we get to the vote, something she calls iron clad I call effective, that is why we are trying to take our time and do this right," Clyburn said.

He added that House Democrats are not "particularly interested in the Senate," but rather are waiting to "bring the public along.

"We do believe if we efficiently and effectively educate the public then we would have done our job and we can move on an impeachment vote," Clyburn said.

Clyburn said that Mueller "has developed the grounds for impeachment," but "the House has to determine the timing for impeachment, there's a big difference."

In other words: Impeachment was never about what's right, or what's legal - it's about what's politically feasible. Don't forget that.

US ready to talk to Iran ‘with no preconditions’ … if it behaves like ‘normal nation’ – Pompeo

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the US is ready to engage in talks with Tehran without preconditions, yet rolled out the same demand other US adversaries have already heard – it should behave like a “normal nation.”

“We are prepared to engage in a conversation with no preconditions, we are ready to sit down,” Pompeo said during a joint news conference with his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis on Sunday.

Such a statement might have looked like an attempt to tone down the hostile rhetoric toward Tehran, yet Pompeo managed to contradict himself in the very same speech. The negotiations would actually be only possible if Iran behaves like a “normal nation,” he added.

“We are certainly prepared to have that conversation when the Iranians can prove that they want to behave like a normal nation,” the official stated. Back in November, Pompeo sent the same vague message to Beijing, urging it to “behave like a normal nation” after a number of Chinese citizens were indicted by a US court for alleged spying.

It's not the first time Washington has sent mixed signals to Tehran over its willingness to negotiate. Last June, President Donald Trump expressed readiness to talk to Iran “anytime they want” with no preconditions – but hours after Pompeo rolled out a list of 12 far-reaching demands Iran had to meet before such talks would happen.

Tehran, for its part, has been more consistent with its stance towards the possibility of dialogue, urging the US to lift sanctions first. On Saturday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the country would talk to the US only if the latter showed “respect” instead of pressing Tehran into negotiations.

“We are for logic and talks if [the US] sits respectfully at the negotiating table and follows international regulations, not if it issues an order to negotiate,” Rouhani stated, as quoted by Fars news agency.

The tensions between the US and Iran have been soaring over the past few weeks, as Washington ramped up its warlike rhetoric and dispatched additional military forces to the Middle East region. The US has accused Iran of plotting to attack its citizens in neighboring countries and pinned the blame on it for the shady incident with Saudi tankers in the UAE – without providing any solid proof. Tehran has firmly rejected all the accusations, insisting that it's not planning to attack anyone but is ready to defend itself from any aggression.

Israel Carried Out Missile Strike On Syrian Army Targets. Casualties Reported (Video, Photos)

Last night, the Israeli military carried out a missile strike at Syrian Army targets in the southern part of Syria.

According to claims by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) media wing, the strikes hit 2 artillery batteries, observation and intelligence posts and an SA-2 (S-75 Dvina) aerial defense battery.

“We hold the Syrian regime accountable and will firmly operate against any attempt to harm Israeli civilians,” the IDF claimed.

The Syrian state media revealed that the missiles came from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights. Several missiles were reportedly intercepted by the Syrian Air Defense Forces. 3 Syrian soldiers were killed and 7 others were injured.
