The reason this makes sense is that the US is otherwise turning MORE totalitarian under Trump and Sessions. DJTs enemies panicked and began recklessly pushing false narratives to frame POTUS and all of his supporters, put us all in virtual gulags with gags and handcuffs.
Status quo is not an option.
