A couple of things:
POTUS is heading back there as a sign it is captured territory. Showing them he’s not afraid.
Next, Presidents don’t fake their deaths. In the event of an attempt on our President’s life, it would be enough to just be vague about where he is or his condition to have a desired effect of confusing the conspirators.
But doing a fake death thing would certainly be worse, for creating national chaos, than not commenting on his condition. Imho
But we are not above letting them try. It goes way back in our American psyche. Something ingrained in us in all the old Western movies. We may actually be looking for this gunfight.
But we are gonna let them draw first.
