It's called selling the public on the idea that going after these people is not political. Trump had to play the long game, appear weak/done for and allow cor his enemies to run their course, all the while exposing how corrupt they all are. Now that the majority of fhe public sees his enemies for the corrupt bastards they are, when he drops the hammer there will be less people supporting them and more calling for justice. Long game dude.
