I'm pretty sure Diana's assassination was one of the very first remote car hacking assassinations (similar to Michael Hastings)

Her car was equipped with internet, but to hack it you'd need to have a pretty strong signal nearby. Given that the car is driving, this is a hard get, but remember she was being chased by the "paparazzi"

I'd bet money you could pretty easily make the emitter look like a camera. That would put everyone in the right place, with the right tools

All I remember about her death is the involvement of the paparazzi was really weird to everyone. This seems to smooth out that weirdness to me. There's motive, means, and need for their weird actions
